Occupational Standards
SSG team members began developing occupational standards and certification in 1989. Since then, we have developed and validated occupational standards for over 150 occupations in the tourism, construction and trades, mining, retail, telecommunications, small business (all sectors) and petroleum industries. Work has been completed successfully in 18 foreign countries and in every province and territory in Canada.
We are proficient in various development methodologies including DACUM (Develop a Curriculum), CAPS (Competency Analysis Profiling System) and Functional Analysis.
The development process is undertaken by SSG facilitators, writers and editors.All SSG standards development includes the involvement of subject matter experts and other relevant stakeholders. SSG is highly skilled and experienced in facilitating consensus with industry groups. The end result is a polished, professional document, validated by individuals who work in the occupation.
